Part 3 – Boost & Balance Your Mind With BrainTap

Brain TapWhen stress, anxiety, depression, sleep issues, PTSD, and suicides seem to be at an all-time high, it makes you wonder what is going on inside the brains of those suffering from these unfortunate and unnecessary issues.

Sadly, Dr. Baku had two good friends of his commit suicide in the past two years, and he knows most of you know someone who has done the same. “I’m tired of this, and it truly breaks my heart. I still tear up at times, thinking of my friends. So what are we doing about this!? Stress is happening to us on a regular basis, so what are we doing regularly to balance the scales?”

Theories on Why Neurological Disorders Are Increasing

Dr. Baku has dedicated much of his work and focus on helping people with different neurological illnesses.

According to Dr. Baku, there are many theories on why all these neurological disorders are on the rise. One reason is prolonged brain stress, particularly being in fight/flight or sympathetic overdrive or crisis mode.

These terms mean the same thing. It’s when the brain is stimulating the part of your nervous system that deals with our survival instincts. Remember a previous blog post about Ashwagandha? That’s the herb we use often for stress. Being in fight/flight/freeze for prolonged periods always leads to damage, degeneration, and disease in the brain and body.

When we talk about stress, we tend to think about significant stress (deaths, divorce, car accidents, finals week, etc.). What we forget are all the constant, chronic low-levels of physical, chemical, and emotional stress we experience every minute of every day. These include sitting at work, our diets, indoor and outdoor allergies, chemical exposure, EMFs from phones, money problems, poor sleep, family and work challenges, etc.

All of these cause the brain to go out of balance. When the brain is out of balance, the body always follows.

We now know that some brain stress/brain imbalance/neurological imbalance is linked to any and every major and minor disease process and pain you can imagine. These include Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, autoimmune, IBS, depression/anxiety/PTSD, chronic pain, fibromyalgia, MS, and many more.

A Promising New Technology

At Baku Chiropractic & Functional Medicine, we are excited to offer a technology called BrainTap. It uses light and sound technology to balance your brain. It also strengthens the brain waves that get us out of stress. It’s an exercise for your brain! We exercise our bodies, but what about exercising the brain!? Here are some incredible reported benefits of BrainTap:

  • Reduces or eliminates brain fog and negative mind chatter
  • Helps increase energy
  • Reduces stress
  • Promotes relaxation, which contributes to improved sleep habits
  • Reduces unwanted habits and behaviors
  • Helps with pain reduction
  • Enhances productivity, memory, focus, and creativity
  • Improves quality of life

Conditions BrainTap Can Address

We use BrainTap regularly in the office for the following:

  • ADD/ADHD
  • Improving sleep
  • Reducing chronic pain
  • Anxiety and depression
  • Stress reduction

New studies using pulsed LEDs with low-level light therapy are showing promising improvements in Alzheimer’s and dementia patients.

Dr. Baku recommends BrainTap to the majority of his patients because he knows we can all benefit from the therapy. They are 15-20 minute sessions that he does after the adjustments. According to research, the brain is in a peak state of neuroplasticity (new brain cell growth) up to 20 minutes after the adjustment.

“This is why I love recommending BrainTap right after a chiropractic session. We can teach your brain stress and traffic, or we can teach it healing and relaxation. This is amazing for helping to maximize the effects of the treatment and to make your adjustments last longer,” said Dr. Baku.
