According to Dr. Baku, there are many theories on why all these neurological disorders are on the rise. One reason is prolonged brain stress, particularly being in fight/flight or sympathetic overdrive or crisis mode.

These terms mean the same thing. It’s when the brain is stimulating the part of your nervous system that deals with our survival instincts. Remember a previous blog post about Ashwagandha? That’s the herb we use often for stress. Being in fight/flight/freeze for prolonged periods always leads to damage, degeneration, and disease in the brain and body.

When we talk about stress, we tend to think about significant stress (deaths, divorce, car accidents, finals week, etc.). What we forget are all the constant, chronic low-levels of physical, chemical, and emotional stress we experience every minute of every day. All of these cause the brain to go out of balance. When the brain is out of balance, the body always follows.
